The Derby Aboriginal Health Service (DAHS) commenced operations in December 1998.

Our Aboriginal community-controlled Health Service is committed to the principles of self-determination, access, equity, empowerment and reconciliation.

The health clinic is open 5 day a week and is serviced by Doctors, Aboriginal Health Workers and Registered Nurses. DAHS have an extensive range of programs which cover all aspects of health care.

Our client service provision includes opportunistic health checks, assessment, understanding, and education. We support our clients when visiting other General Practitioners and Specialists.

Our outreach service provides Doctor's clinics to Pandanus Park and Jarlmadangah Buru communities. We have a strong partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Jurrugk Aboriginal Health Service (JAHS) which enables DAHS to service communities along the Gibb River Road.

DAHS works collaboratively with the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service Council KAMSC) School of Health Studies to recruit Aboriginal Health Workers students.

DAHS representative sits on the KAMS Council and is an affiliate of both the West Australian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (WAACHO) and National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO)
