Yura Yungi Medical Service (YYMS) in Halls Creek was established in 1987 as an Aboriginal community controlled health service providing holistic, culturally appropriate curative services with integrated preventative programs.

YYMS has a governing board elected by the community and a Chief Executive Officer who is appointed by the board to manage the service under their direction.

Over 20 years the staff complement at YYMS has grown to in excess of over 20, and includes: 2 full time GPs, a Clinic Coordinator, Aboriginal Health Workers, Reception and Administrative Support staff, a dedicated Data Enterer and Cleaning / Maintenance staff.

Transport is provided by clinic drivers for those people in need and as part of YYMS outreach services.

Preventative and public health programs include maternal and child health, women’s health, chronic disease program delivery and sexual health services.
